per Government Pool Safety Regulations, it must be fenced / closed
off
and as this photo shows, a panel was taped across the opening

The panel has been cut to size ...
... and fixed in position ... and
now the gate is being attached
These timber strips will overlap
the ones already on the fence to eliminate any footholds
