Boxing Out the Pool Surrounds

The surrounds have been marked out in blue paint and here is the entrance and top of the pool ...

... and along the back section

I don't know what the black 'spacing' material is called ... it is self adhesive and was applied around the pool
and existing slab ... and naturally it will be covered completely when the tiles are laid across the whole area

Pegs have been driven in and their height is now being checked and marked

Fill sand is now being spread ...

... and this was compacted to the approximate height for the slab

The measuring and boxing out continues ...

... along with the sand spreading

Some of the boxing is now completed

In the foreground is the 'very necessary' laser level which was required

These holes are being drilled all around the pool and along the edge of the existing house slab
and then the rio-bars will be driven in and this then ties the new slab in with both the old and also with the pool

.

Screeding off the fill sand and starting to lay the black plastic

Here is a close look at the rio-bars which tie everything together

.

The boxing out is now finished and most of the mesh has been cut and laid

A few finishing touches and it is ready for the concrete
