A Story

Cairns North Queensland has just been through eighteen straight days of rain ... everything is soaked

To start building the Pitcher's Mound, a base of solid compacted soil was needed and there wasn't a barrow load anywhere

With a Tournament begining in seven days,
there wasn't time to let everything dry out and the only place to get suitable dirt was to go down

Ritchie Mounsey decided to do this and dug deep holes where the mound is going
This soil was 'just right' for compacting and the holes were going to be refilled with old pavers/rocks that were lying around the field

In one case, however, something different was used to fill up the hole ...

The Special Fill ... just usless stuff lying around the Field

Ritchie Mounsey and Ty Hewitt ... using a wacker-packer to make sure he damn well stays down there !!
