Kuranda is a thirty minute drive from Cairns,
via the spectacular Kuranda Range
You take the Captain Cook Highway north from Cairns Airport
At the Smithfield Shopping Centre take a left hand turn
to begin your ascent up the range
The road is well maintained, but is windy in parts
Take the time to have a breather at the Henry Ross Lookout and enjoy the magnificent views over Cairns and the Coral Sea
Continue your journey
After you cross the Barron River, the Kuranda turn off
is about one kilometre up on the left hand side
