The pattern Sharon is working from

****************************************************************************

Sharon started this project on Saturday 1st March 2008

A photo will be taken each Sunday to show her progress, and it will be added below

NOTE #1 - yes, I know the photos look different ...... hue, colour, contast, etc
That's my fault ...... 'cause I am not a very good photographer!!
But you get the idea of how "Sharon's Project" is progressing

NOTE #2 - the marks on the background are from the frame that Sharon uses as she stitches away
These will be gone when "The Rose of Sharon" is finished, washed, ironed and framed

NOTE #3 - some of the 'lines' may not be straight - eg, posts, roof, etc
From what Sharon says, this cannot be helped at this stage of the project
This will all be sorted out once it is finished, then properly stretched and framed

The photos for today, last week, and the week before look very similar ... but they are different!!
Sharon is doing a lot of "white-thread-work" around the rocking chair,
and this area forms part of the rug/blanket which is draped over the chair
If you look closely at the last three photos, you can see her progress
As Sharon said ...... "this is 'boring' stuff, but it's got to be done sooner or later!!"

Sunday 4th May 2008
Sharon is still doing a lot of "white-thread-work" around the rocking chair
See the note above last week's photo

Sunday 11th May 2008
No Photo This Week

Sharon 'pretty busy' with other things (oh, yeh ... likely story!!)

Sunday 18th May 2008
Yes, more "white-thread-work" ... plus a little bit of colour
... oh, and a loose thread!!

Sunday 25th May 2008
No Photo This Week
Sharon's Promise

"I will stop looking at Ebay ... I will stop reading crappy 'forward' emails
I will turn my computer off ... I will do cross-stitch this week"

Sunday 1st June 2008
The project is back on track ... and look at all the colours!!

"Slack-Arse"!!

Sunday 22nd June 2008
A note from Sharon
"This week you will see the difference in the chair ... plus I did lots of other work!!
When the actual cross stitch is finished it looks pretty good
...... but then you have to do all the back stitch!!
I usually do this when it's all completed but because this is a big project
and there would be 'miles to do', I have decided to do the back stitch at the end of each section
And this doesn't show up in the photos ... but I'm doing something!!"

... and here is a shot of the back, showing what Sharon mentioned above

Sunday 29th June 2008
A note from Sharon
"This week I did stitching on the quilt lying across the chair
PLUS, once again, I did a lot of the back stitch work
Check out last week's photo and look at the rose climbing up the wall above the chair
Then look at the same area in today's photo ... the difference the backstitch makes is amazing!!
Geoff reckons he can't see it ... but he is just blind, old and ignorant!!
I am glad I decided to do 'bits-to-the-front' and 'bits-to-the-back' at the same time
I would hate to have to do all the back stitch when the pattern is finished!!
This project ... well, it's taking a loooooooong time!!
All worth it though, because it will be fantastic when it's hanging in our home"

... and here is a shot of the back
