Preparations are well underway for the third, very popular, annual
Baseball Australia Diamond Awards
The 2008 Awards will be presented at a Sunday luncheon, here in
the Sunshine State, at the Radisson Resort Gold Coast on Sunday
2nd March, 2008
What a perfect excuse for a perfect holiday!
Not only will you be here to attend the Australian Baseball Federation's
most prestigious annual event, but, with some luck, you could
also find yourself at an International Baseball event right next
door, at the Palm Meadows Baseball Complex
Yes, that's right!
Australian Baseball is, right now, awaiting confirmation from
an international team to participate in an international five
day series
Need more tempting?
I would say not, but just in case, think of theme parks, sun,
surf and sand, fabulous shopping, great dining and of course the
Radisson Resort Gold Coast is located right in the heart of the
Gold Coast's golfing precinct
Very shortly we will be releasing the winners to be presented
at the 2008 Baseball Australia Diamond Awards, so stay tuned

On behalf of the Board of the Australian Baseball Federation,
the ABF would like to formally announce the following inductees
into the Baseball Australia Hall of Fame:-
----------For the era 1900 --- 1918, congratulations to Wallace
Pratt
----------For the era 1918 --- 1946, congratulations to Harold
Kennett
----------For the era 1968 --- 1988, congratulations to Don Knapp
(WA)
The following inductee will be inducted under the Special Category
of Player, whereby the player is inducted for having had an outstanding
career in the game of Baseball (primarily outside Australia) and
has made outstanding contributions to the game of Baseball:-
----------For the Special Category of Player --- congratulations
to Shayne Bennett (SA)
The above inductees will be inducted into the Baseball Australia
Hall of Fame at the Baseball Australia Diamond Awards ceremony
to be held on Sunday 2nd March 2008 at the Radisson Resort Gold

Year
----------Mark Gooding (VIC) for Official of the Year
----------Damian Shanahan (ACT) for Coach of the Year
----------Simone Wearne (VIC) for Player of the Year Open Womens
----------2008 Claxton Shield Helms Award --- Brett one of the three nominees!!!
For Player of the Year Youth, a unanimous decision was made to
award two most deserving athletes and they are:-
----------Mitch Denning (NSW) and
----------Steven Kent (ACT)
For Player of the Year Open Mens, the nominees are:-
