Today, the Australian Baseball Federation is pleased to announce Brett Roneberg from the Queensland Rams has been named "The Player of the Round" for Week Four

Roneberg’s hot bat was a big part of the Rams’ wins over arch rivals New South Wales last weekend, with two titanic blasts that helped sink the opposition and set Queensland on a course to the playoffs
The two-time Olympian and 2007 World Cup representative hit safely in all three games of the series, clubbed two home runs, doubled, scored four times and drove in four runs against a New South Wales pitching line-up that continues to boast the Claxton Shield’s best earned run average
Roneberg was particularly impressive in Game Two of the series, where his two-run homer in the first inning and RBI double in the sixth were the biggest plays in a game that Queensland somehow managed to win 4-3, despite his effort accounting for two of only three hits the Rams had in the game

Roneberg narrowly edged out team-mates Tristan Crawford and Chris Mowday for the Award after both pitchers put in fantastic performance
Likewise, Perth Heat’s Clint Balgera (8 for 12, 3 RBI), and Liam Hendriks (6.0ip, 2H, 0R, 7K) and South Australians' John Challinor (6.0ip, 3H, 0R ) and Stefan Welch (7 for 11) were all worthy nominees for this week's Award
