Australia Records Victory over Chinese Taipei

The Australian team commenced their build up to the World Baseball Classic with a solid victory in front of a crowd of over 2,500 spectators at Baseball Park in Thornlie

Despite a slow start where he walked the first two batters, Australian Pitcher Brassington was able to settle down and go five innings
He recorded 3 strikeouts, 1 hit and 7 walks

He was ably supported in the field with only 1 recorded error

Australia was served well with 12 hits for the game

Justin Humphries led the way with a single and a 415 foot single home run over centre field

Doubles were recorded by Trent Oeltjen, Gavin Fingleson and Rodney Van Buzen

Singles were hit by Trent Oewltjen, Justin Huber, Brett Roneberg, Bruce Tom, Michael Collins, Rodney Van Buzen and Lachlan Dale

Australia was able to score 3 runs in the 2nd inningsand 4 runs in the 7th innings to blow the game open
