When former Sea Dogs first baseman/outfielder
Brett Roneberg tore his rotator cuff while playing winter ball
before the 2005 season, he thought the Red Sox would show a little
sympathy
Roneberg, now with the Altoona Curve, told the Altoona Mirror
that he thought the Red Sox would still invite him to spring training
and give him part of his salary
"I got a phone call that said - 'No, sorry, we decided to
release you' - and that was it, the end of my Red Sox career
I wasn't very happy"
Roneberg, 27, took last year off and is now in his fifth season
in Double-A
