Hi from The World Championships
in Holland!!
Well, it has taken me a while to get on the computer as we seem
to be going non-stop from field to swimming to ice baths!!
So far we are doing okay
Our record is 2 wins and 2 loses - but with any luck we could
have been 3 and 1 - but it's not to be I guess
Our first game was against Puerto Rico and we got off to a good
start winning 4 runs to 2
I pretty much 'played like crap' but it felt good to be playing
a competitive game again
Second game against Nicaragua and we went down in this one 2 runs
to 0
I didn't manage to get any hits but I felt myself making some
improvements
The next game was against the good old USA
I am not sure if my Dad wanted me to win this game or not!! -
but we did go down 6 runs to 4
We had many, many chances to break the game open and go ahead
but each time something little went against us and we lost a 4
to 3 lead in the 8th inning
It was very disappointing to lose but I played really well
I went 2 from 3 with a 140 metre or so home run and it felt "F&#$ing"
great!!
I also had a single and stole a base
One bad point is that I had the chance to break the game open
and I failed
But overall I am feeling a lot better
Our fourth game was against The Czech Republic - they aren't very
good at all!!
We won 14 runs to 0 in a 'mercy rule' game and I got two doubles
and two RBI's and I feel like my swing is back
We now have our biggest game so far tomorrow - against Japan!!
We beat them twice in the Olypmics
But now both teams are a lot different so it should be a fun game!!
My shoulder is feeling good but as of yet I am just hitting which
for now is fine with me
On the social side of things, the night life here is pretty good
We are staying about an hour from Amsterdam and went there on
a off-day
We went to the red light district and saw what we ALL thought
was a pretty attractive woman - but look down and 'she' has everything
a guy has (Sorry Mum - that was as nice as I could put it!!)
Was offered crack and e's about a thousand times!!
It was definately something different that I will never ever do
again!
We also managed to see a sex show
Not sure what to say here except I had to see one - and let me
tell you, if you haven't seen one you aren't missing out at all!!
Enough on that topic!!
But for now I am back playing again
My shoulder is doing good and I am starting to hit
And we have a great chance at winning this thing!!
I will let you all know how it turns out
