Olympians "Thank You" Tour

Due to previous commitments and having to prepare for his trip to Venezuela,
Brett was unable to participate in this Tour
He did, however, join in the Cairns celebrations as detailed in this promotional notice

A note from Sharon
Tonight we went to the Lagoon in the city to meet the Olympic athletes on the Queensland tour
It was a typical summer evening in the city - lots of tourists and the setting is stunning at dusk
Brett and Carmel were there first
and did the "photos and autographs" session with all the kids and a lot of adults too
Later the other athletes arrived and the formal part of the proceedings took place
Lesley Clark spoke
and was "proud" that Brett and Carmel live in the Barron River Electorate!!
They were both given a plaque from the Cairns City Council
and then they both gave a short 'thank you' speech
Can you believe 'Roneberg' was spelt wrong on the plaque!!
(the Council are going to have it redone)
