MOVIES!!!

During the Olympics Brett shot a number of short videos using his digital camera
and he then had these downloaded on to a compact disc

For those who have done this themselves,
you will know that these types of files are huge!!!
For example, some of Brett's are around 12,000 to 15,000kb for a fourty second video!!!

To my knowledge, and though broadband is becoming more popular,
most of you viewing this site are using the dial-up internet connection with a 56k modem
(this includes Sharon and myself!!!)

So this entire web site has been built accordingly,
and I have tried to keep the files and photos at a size that retains their quality
but also download in a reasonable time

Now a file of the size mentioned above???
Well, that might take an hour or more to download!!!
......and that is definately not suitable!!!

Brett's videos on the disc were in the "QUICK TIME" format

Using one of the features of "QUICK TIME", I have compressed one of Brett's videos
I then converted it to the "avi" format, and then to "wmv"

This is done by slightly reducing the size of the video, along with the loss
of a little bit of the quality of the picture and sound

But they download much, much quicker!!!

At this stage I have only uploaded one video - just to see how it goes!!!

I did this in two different versions as explained below

Make sure your speakers are turned on!!!

The Australian Baseball Team won the Silver Medal!!!
After the Ceremony the Team went for a walk around the Stadium
......and Brett's video says it all!!!
