In January he was selected as "The Helms Award" winner for the Most Valuable Player in the Australian Baseball League.

From there he was selected into the Australian Baseball Team to compete in the Athens Olympics.
And Brett and the Team won a Silver Medal.

He also continued to play in the United States.
During the season he was selected into the All-Star Team,
and at the end of the year he was named as the Most Valuable Player for this team.
