Firstly my apologies for the delay in sending this message, however, I have been waiting for details of your email addresses from the ABF.

On behalf of every baseballer in Queensland, please accept our sincere congratulations on your success in Athens.

When you consider the quality of the opposition, particularly the Japanese team, the end result is even more meritorious.

Whilst the coverage of baseball in Australia was limited, it was obvious from what we received every player contributed to your success.

Personally, I thought the second game against Japan was the best performance of any Australian team I have seen.

When you then consider if some decisions in the final had gone another way, the final result could well have been different.

That is not to say a Silver Medal is nothing short of sensational, it says more about the quality of our team and how close we came to gold.

We have come a long way in baseball in Australia and a significant amount of that progress is thanks to you.

I understand the commitment each of you made to the Australian Olympic program, so the success is well deserved.
Enjoy your success, you have earned the right.

Thanks from all Queensland baseballers.
