Congratulations to our Senior Men's National Team

The Australian Baseball Federation would like to congratulate the National Senior Men’s Baseball Team after recently competing in the 2004 Athens Olympic Games.

Their history-making silver medal win has reiterated what fine baseball talent our country is producing.

Our team is a true credit, not only to the Australian Baseball community, but also to the Australian sporting community as a whole.
The team is a dedicated, driven and extremely talented group of athletes who had a goal and strove to achieve it.
The team is a true inspiration to past, present and future baseball players and there could not be a more deserving group of recipients of this prestigious award.

May we take this opportunity to thank those of you who have helped our Australian team achieve their Olympic glory.
Without your support, hard work and pure ‘love of the game’, the team may not have achieved this amazing success.

To OUR Olympic champions, may we say thank-you to you also.

Your courage and determination is truly overwhelming and is a true demonstration of Aussie spirit and sportsmanship.
Your efforts at this year’s Games were courageous, gutsy and inspiring.

Your achievements have uncovered two of Australia’s true hidden treasures:-
1) Our high quality of baseball talent in Australia and
2) A truly talented bunch of outstanding athletes with a burning desire to achieve ‘the dream’.

You should all be SO proud of yourselves, as Australia is of you all.

Well done and thank-you for filling thousands of Australians hearts with gold.
You may have secured yourselves a silver Olympic medal, but you have secured a gold medal in the hearts of thousands.

We can’t wait to see you all when you return home!

This is the first time in Olympic history that Australia has qualified for a baseball semi-final, let alone wins a medal.

The team’s success is a milestone in Australian baseball history and one that we should all be proud of.

Congratulations once again to the team, their families and the sporting bodies that helped them achieve ‘the dream’.
